MIDI Trigger: Select
The Select trigger is a MIDI-based input. It detects when a MIDI Select message is received from the specified MIDI device.
The Select message tells a MIDI device to select a sequence for playback. This message is used with MIDI equipment, such as sequencers or drum machines, which can store and recall a number of different songs.
A slave device might receive (from a master device) a Select message to cue a specific song to play (out of several songs), a Position message to cue that song to start on a particular beat, a MIDI Continue in order to start playback from that beat, periodic MIDI Clocks in order to keep the playback in sync with the master, and eventually a MIDI Stop to halt playback.
